The truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth

Putting Faith in something has to have an object, Faith in and of itself is dead. One could have faith in swallowing and be fed poison and die if they swallow. So what one has as their object of Faith either brings life or keeps one dead in their sins and transgressions.

Either Christ did or did not take away the sins of the world, there is no in between, it is either done or it is not. Now the Bible also has to have a witness and in John 1:29 it states behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. Well obviously not in this worlds sight right? So then if Christ did take this all away the sin of the world and the world is still manifesting on it, and we know this statement of John the Baptist is true, then I would have to ask since not from this world’s viewpoint then from whose?

The only obvious answer I could find it had to be from Christ’s Father’s vantage point, I see no other vantage point do any of you all?

So let us look at the purpose of Christ’s Job in coming to earth.

First he said it himself he came not to destroy the Law and Prophets rather to fulfill Matt. 5:17. Well after this there was a lot said and a lot done, he performed miracles and revealed man’s impossibility in man ever trying to be saved in and of themselves ever, even the disciples asked after seeing their own inability to be saved after watching the rich man walk away very sad. And Jesus said to them with man this is impossible, but with God it is possible. I wondered what was it that he was saying about was it him going to the cross that he was talking about, had to be! and then asked them to pray the Lord’s prayer of God’s will to be done here, then the disciples get further annihilated with wait just one minute you mean if I do not forgive my neighbor that God will not forgive me!!!!!!!! Wow I got a lot of work to do yes? But wait a minute Jesus you just said it is impossible with man to enter heaven by anything he does, as a matter of fact I got to gouge out my eyes, cut off my hands, and feet rip out my tongue and then I can go to heaven better for part of me to go to heaven than all of me to go to hell. Wow! it is impossible to go to heaven why Jesus, he said you must be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect, it can be no other way, one has to be perfect period and man has been trying to do this ever since the death, burial and resurrection still trying to be perfect and can’t it is impossible for man. So there has to be a way or did Jesus waste his time and effort? Jesus said it but with God it is possible to go to heaven and Christ also said you have to be perfect and we know we can’t be perfect, we don’t have the Love of God best described in 1 Cor. 13. as man it is impossible to be perfect

So then since I can’t make myself perfect by any good works I ever do and no amount of help from others can ever do this for me either, I only have left one thing that is hope, and in this hope doubt is attached so even though I say I believe and have not passed from hope and trying to have faith in God through Christ Jesus, doubt is and has been keeping me from seeing truth, because I have been taught from birth on to do good and I will be blessed, so I am in a straight betwixt because I learned how to be bad and fake being good fool the people and receive rewards what a crook yes that as man we all are? But this is what this world has done and is doing to the people of this world. We are good puppets and have been manipulated, deceived into doing good works and never measure up not perfectly, when in actuality there is only one good and that is God the Father period and that is why Christ pointed us all to Father and said he is the way, the truth and the life no one gets to the Father except through Christ.

So when Christ went to the cross and died over 2,000 years ago did he die for the sins of the whole world, is the whole world reconciled before God the Father by Christ?

Romans 5:10 says this is so. Okay so we see the death and what it did it paid for the sins of the whole world from Christ’s Father’s vantage point, All is forgiven right? Have we all settled this yet that we are 100% forgiven at and through the cross? This is important because if you do not believe this then there is more for you to do to inherit salvation and God is trying to tell us all that he by God’s Mercy has had Mercy on you believe and receive.

So let us look at what happened when he was about to die on the cross John 19:30 he yells out It Is Finished!!!!! And gives up the Ghost, so what was finished remember what he came to do was to fulfill the Law and Prophets. Well he yells out it is finished so I can conclude safely that he did do what he said he came to do right he fulfilled the Law and Prophets. So what gain is this for you and me? Jesus was absolutely perfect right 100% because he had no sin right? Now the whole world knows they have sin right? Why do we not see it taken away in Christ and try to do righteousness as Jesus already did when with man it is impossible to go to heaven on man’s efforts?

So now since Christ died taking away the sins of this world in his Father’s sight, not the world’s and or most Churches here in the world, but from Father’s vantage point, are we not still dead ourselves even though this event from God has taken place we are all forgiven, but still dead? Are we not in need of life?

Okay, first the death of Christ at the death brought in a new Covenant Hebrews 9:15-17 where we are set free from stress, worry, and having to try and obey law, because remember it is impossible with man and is possible with God. The cross is where it is all possible. First the death freed one from the Law the curse of it that whenever it flows through flesh being weak can’t perform it the law that is not perfectly and remember we have to be perfect just as our Heavenly Father is perfect no ands ifs or buts period.

So this would have to be the case then it is by the resurrection that one is saved no other way and if there was no resurrection then there is no salvation and Christ dieing on the cross would be made void. So the power is in the resurrection not the death, death was needed first to take away your sins and all the world’s but life is not found here. Life is in the resurrection nowhere else. So you now be reconciled to God and ask for the life in him here and now, being dead to sin (Romans 6:11) here and now and be as he is perfect by the resurrection of Christ. And now maybe one will understand John 3 about being born again and that it takes belief beyond hope and Faith, read Hebrews 5:10- 6:6 there is no more forgiveness to be executed from God you are forgiven and in need of life and all is yours from God the Father’s vantage point through the cross of Christ. Christ has made you perfect by him, and has given new life to all those that believe in his finished work therefore your work is finished as well once you finally believe it is then you receive and are set free WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"There is only one cure for all the world's ills

How many cures have you tried? Marriage, Family, a certain Job, being single, attending church, internet chat, make lots of money, Have lots of friends. And finally what about adding God to the mix, and I know I have tried all these as well as you too yeah?

Has any of this worked and even with what we learn about God from others has this worked are you at rest yet in him? Have we tried to read and understand the Bible as God’s last word to mankind and get confused? Is everything we do useless as being futile fruitless? Does it a lot of times feel this way as we get ripped off from, taken advantage of, deceived by others for their gain? And let us not forget that we have somewhere somehow done the same, deceived, lied to, stolen from, desired another man’s belongings, gotten mad at especially other drivers that almost cause an accident from not paying attention

So all in all are we any different than anyone else or are we all the same as in harming one another at some point in our lives? Do we not all have blood and it bleeds red, is there anyone of us that bleeds a different color? Do not all of us have skin that heals whether a different color or not, have hearts that hurt over being stolen from, and forsaken by others? Even if you have not done this and have obeyed the Laws from childhood on does this make you better than others?

Let us say you are wealthy and have no need of food, drink, clothing and Shelter. What do you think the best thing to do with it is? Buy an expensive car, a Mansion, expensive clothing and look better than anyone else? It is each man’s choice what to do with what they have earned and or given. Now if you are any of the above not just rich maybe not poor and maybe poor. Are you happy, elated, and or joyful all the time no matter what situation you are in? Would it be a better state to be content in whatever situation you are in whether rich, poor, indifferent of others or anything that you have or don’t have no matter what is at hand including physical death?

In this World here and now Good and bad things happen to us all no matter what we have or do not have no one is exempt from troubles are they? How does this and has this made you feel?

Is it possible to go through troubles, such as homeless, death of another, loss of anything that you might value and hold dear? What are the stakes if I value other people friendship more than the creator of this universe known as the Father of Jesus Christ, Or plainly just Jesus Christ known as the Son of God the Father? I know we all have to make a living while here on this earth. We are born and raised to survive and provide for Family, procreate and on and on it goes.  Again this is ones free choice of what to do or not. Yet how many of us have got stuck in lies and have had fear of losing home and or Job? Therefore lie about how we feel and that is not so bad is it when it is common in this world to lie, and cheat and steal is it not?

Does this world operate out of fear, do most of us obey Laws out of fear? Is this not what we are taught tom lie from a young age on? How many here reading have been taught that Santa Clause is real, and or the Easter Bunny? They both are a lie. How about the Tooth Fairy? Yes another lie

How many more things are we lied to about? Since good and bad things happen to people regardless of behavior how can positive and negative reinforcement be the way to be? One could and many have done a great Job masquerading as being Good in order to get what they want because if the others have something you want (Which is Coveting) don’t you or haven’t you manipulated them to be your friend in order to obtain whatever it is you are after. And then afterward dump them like a hot potato?

Now let us suppose for a little while here and now, that you are the Creator of all and you see an angel that you created and given free will to because you love the creation that you created. You from afar notice that this magnificent Angel is and has been taking glory from other angels that are young. This majestic Angel name is Lucifer, and all along you see what this angel is doing and at first you overlook it, thinking why would anyone you created disregard the free will that you gave them, for this is Love to give your creation free will yes?

So in seeing this happen over time and this Angel name Lucifer has been gathering information from you for a long time, taking that information and using it for his own gain, telling the angels answers to their questions that Lucifer got from you the creator and taking all the credit for it.

What would you do and then God forms the earth and makes Man. I bet those angels got very curious when a lot of the light that did shine through Lucifer, being the creators’ light than shone through him, was no longer doing this as was before and thus this Angel had to go to work and do a lot of manipulating to keep those Angels that he had control of under control. And thus we know the creation of human period, from the word that God gave Moses and then the prophets and then the Messiah Christ.

Now this is where one is restored is in the Messiah Jesus Christ but not until the death, which brought in a new covenant, then after proof of that death the new covenant is ratified then the resurrection.

The death, burial, resurrection is the three components for the believer to see.

First our death as what the flesh is born with alive in the flesh and dead in the Spirit, in need of a new life a born again Spirit back to what Adam and Eve had prior to eating of that tree of evil that caused death.

Then the second thing after being in agreement with God that God by Christ removed the sin issue that caused death, so that God himself in the power of the Holy Ghost the same Holy Ghost that led Jesus telling Jesus what the Father wanted him to do or say and he did. Now lives in the believer and the Holy Ghost is striving to set you the believer free by showing first you are 100% forgiven at the cross and that there is no more forgiveness from God’s vantage point to be executed it is done. That is where you ask for the born again Spirit to show you the new life that he has given you, where you receive his love the love of 1 cor. 13 that is 100% unnatural for man to perform , only your new alive Spirit can do this in connection with the Holy Spirit of God’s truth

Yes by belief in the full operation of God back at the cross you are today new and alive to God forever more no more flesh carnal nature in the way from God the Father’s vantage point. Are you starting to see brothers and sister in Christ.

Now if anyone does sin again remember we do have:

1 John 2:1

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the FatherJesus Christ, the Righteous One.

Now please start to understand this that I know we all growing up have been taught that if we sin we need to go to God to get forgiveness.

Think for a minute is this true? And tell me where in the word after the death of Christ does it state to go and get more forgiveness? This is you all’s challenge

Feel free to email me from here or at my e-mail sight please if you find anywhere this is at, I want to know I personally have not found this anywhere under the new covenant that it says forgiveness is ongoing as it is stated in the old covenant

Go forth and be set free from all the worlds ills, not as in them to quit happening yet as in one’s different reaction to it or to anything that happens counting all things good or bad to work out (because now you see your called) towards the good of God and for you since you see this amazing miraculous salvation put right under your nose, smell the sweet aroma of Christ the death and then your resurrection in him as he is already raised from the dead by the operation of God the Father

Thank you Homwardbound

"I am beside you. Can you not feel My Presence?" (GOD)

New Covenant: Jeremiah 31:31

“The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah.

This has come to pass:

Luke 22:20

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

The above was right before he was about to be crucified

Hebrews 8:6

But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.

Hebrews 8:8

But God found fault with the people and said: “The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah.

So when did the above happen? For it is in place today a new covenant

Hebrews 9:15

For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.

Hebrews 9:16-17 New International Version (NIV)

16 In the case of a will, it is necessary to prove the death of the one who made it, 17 because a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never takes effect while the one who made it is living.

Hebrews 8:13

By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

Hebrews 12:24

to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

2 Corinthians 3:6

He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Okay we have established a new covenant yes?

So what is the new Law?

Romans 7:6  LOVE

But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

Ephesians 2:15

by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace,

Romans 13:10

Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Mark 12:33

To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

Luke 10:27

He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

In the Ten Commandments are these two Laws of Love found?

Romans 13:9

The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

No but the Law of Love is the fulfillment of not only the Ten but all Law.  Love brings in consideration; one learns to stop reaction(s) of the past being in a hurry,  stops and thinks before doing now considering what they are thinking and taking all thoughts captive to Christ and listening what to do and thus do. So what actually is true Love? Would this be to only Love those that Love you?

Luke 6:32

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.

Matthew 5:46

If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

So apparently this new LOVE is different so lets see what it is exactly.

1 Corinthians 13  New International Version (NIV)

13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

(So below is what love is and can be only received by Faith in what god has done for you by christ through the cross, this type of love is unnatural to mankind this is why we need faith in god and be born again through the cross)

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, (now see the above verse completeness God has come, God has redeemed us by the cross, this verse is meant for you to see this and receive this here and now then) what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

It is LOVE God’s LOVE that goes on forever, everything else will pass away!

Hebrews 7:11

[ Need for a New Priesthood ] Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron?

Genesis 14:18

[ Abram and Melchizedek ] Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.

Psalm 110:4

The Lord has sworn And will not relent, “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.”

Hebrews 5:6

As He also says in another place: “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek”;

Hebrews 5:10

called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,”

Hebrews 6:20

where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 7:1

[ The King of Righteousness ] For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

Hebrews 7:10

for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him.

Hebrews 7:11

[ Need for a New Priesthood ] Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron?

Hebrews 7:14-16

New King James Version (NKJV)

14 For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.[a] 15 And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest 16 who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life.

Hebrews 7:17

For He testifies: “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.”

Hebrews 7:21

(for they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said to Him: “The Lord has sworn And will not relent, ‘You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek’”),

So you see who we are now so go look in the mirror and do not forget who God through
Christ made you to be by his Son’s finished work has created you a new in him brand new with the love of him shed abroad in your heart the love described in 1 cor. 13

Whilst Christians are not perfect in our physical state, these failings are not what determine whether we are sinner or not.

Remember that in Christ we are justified, hence Satan, the accuser, can no longer charge us with sin.

 Rom 8:33

Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies.

Please consider what the definition of "sin" is.

Below are a few examples of God's definitions of sin:

Unrighteousness, 1John 5:17 (Christians are righteous in Christ, so in this regard we do not sin)

Unbelief in Jesus, John 16:9 (Christians believe in Jesus, so in this regard we do not sin)

Transgression of the law, 1John 3:4 (Christians are not under the law, so in this regard we do not sin)

Regarding sin/transgression of the law, Christians cannot be accused of this sin as we are not under the law of sin and death.

The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets free from the law of sin and death, (Rom 8:2).

"Christ is the end of the law for righteousness," Rom 10:4

Regarding the law of sin and death it should be noted that:

“whatever the law says it says to those who are under it” (Rom 3:19).

“The law was not made for a righteous person (Christians), but for…the ungodly and for sinners” (1Tim 1:9).

“Where there is no law there is no transgression (SIN)” (Rom 4:15).

Only our past sin was dealt with at the cross.

Rom 3:25: "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past,"

It was only our past sins that were forgiven. That means there is no more forgiveness of sin after this as sin was finally dealt with at the cross. Christ's sacrifice totally purged/cleansed us of sin. After that there is no more subsequent sin because our righteousness is not judged by deeds of the law anymore. Instead our faith is counted for righteousness, Rom 4:5.

When we are in Christ, believing in him, then we are righteous (Rom 4:5), sanctified (Heb 10:10), holy (Rom 11:16) and perfected (Heb 10:14), hence Satan, the accuser, cannot charge us with sin, Rom 8:33.

Consider also 1Pet 4:18

“If the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and sinner appear”.

Clearly there are 2 different groups described here.

 Group 1: Righteous (and saved).

 Group 2: Ungodly/Sinner (unsaved).

Either we are righteous (in Christ) OR we are sinners. We can't be both.

In Christ we have "ceased from sin", 1Pet 4:1

How have we "ceased from sin?

We believe in Jesus, thus our old man has been crucified with him, Rom 6:6.

Now, I no longer live but Christ lives in me, Gal 2:20. And in Christ there is no sin, 1John 3:5

1Pet 4:1

“Therefore, since Christ suffered (crucified) for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind (our old man crucified with him. Rom 6:6), for he who has suffered in the flesh (Rom 6:6) has ceased from sin”.

And this is also confirmed by 1John 3:9

“Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed (Christ) remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God”.

Truly Jesus set us free from sin (John 8:36).

And as for those physical failings that we still see, remember that body is already dead (by faith) because of sin.

 Rom 8:10

 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin;

As your body is already dead (by faith) because of sin (crucified with Christ, Rom 6:6) therefore Satan, the accuser, can no longer charge you with sin, Rom 8:33.

On a separate point, regarding our obvious physical failings/wrongs, we will not profit in doing them. Although our righteousness is not determined by this, there are physical consequences for any wrongs we do. Consider King David with his adultery/murder. He was disciplined by God.

But in regards to our righteousness, our faith is counted for righteousness, Rom 4:5.

We are born of God (1John 5:1) and cannot sin (1John 3:9). So Satan, the accuser, cannot charge us with sin, Rom 8:33.

 Continue to believe in Jesus.

Yes this is truth to the matured believer that God has chosen to allow to see as God will have Mercy on whom God will have Mercy Hebrews 6 ask God to see and move onto perfection in the Spirit of God Hallelujah brother

Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Romans 1:17

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealeda righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

1 Corinthians 15

15 Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.

20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.

So if Christ is not raised from the dead then his death did not account to anything and we are still in our sins. So Christ who is raised from the dead has then indeed bore our sins not only ours but the whole world’s YES, what good, fantastic great news this is do you agree?

2 Corinthians 4:3

And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

2 Corinthians 4:4

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Galatians 1 New International Version (NIV)

1 Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— 2 and all the brothers and sisters with me,

To the churches in Galatia:

3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

No Other Gospel

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting THE ONE who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Paul Called by God

11 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

13 For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, my immediate response was not to consult any human being. 17 I did not go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went into Arabia. Later I returned to Damascus.

18 Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days. 19 I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord’s brother. 20 I assure you before God that what I am writing you is no lie.

21 Then I went to Syria and Cilicia. 22 I was personally unknown to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. 23 They only heard the report: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they praised God because of me.

Galatians 2 New International Version (NIV)

Paul Accepted by the Apostles

2 Then after fourteen years, I went up again to Jerusalem, this time with Barnabas. I took Titus along also. 2 I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders; I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain. 3 Yet not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek. 4 This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves. 5 We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.

6 As for those who were held in high esteem—whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not show favoritism—they added nothing to my message. 7 On the contrary, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised. 8 For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle to the Gentiles. 9 James, Cephas and John, those esteemed as pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised. 10 All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.

Paul Opposes Cephas

11 When Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. 12 For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself from the Gentiles because he was afraid of those who belonged to the circumcision group. 13 The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray.

14 When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?

15 “We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles 16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in[d] Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

17 “But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners, doesn’t that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not! 18 If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker.

19 “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”

Galatians 3 New International Version (NIV)

Faith or Works of the Law

3 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. 2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? 4 Have you experienced so much in vain—if it really was in vain? 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? 6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

7 Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. 8 Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” 9 So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” 11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” 12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

The Law and the Promise

15 Brothers and sisters, let me take an example from everyday life. Just as no one can set aside or add to a human covenant that has been duly established, so it is in this case. 16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ. 17 What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise. 18 For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise; but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

19 Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions until the Seed to whom the promise referred had come. The law was given through angels and entrusted to a mediator. 20 A mediator, however, implies more than one party; but God is one.

21 Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. 22 But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.

Children of God

23 Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. 24 So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. 25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.

26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Now that is the Gospel according to God, it is by Faith, (Belief) that one is saved
